We are looking forward to hearing from…

Carolyn Woolway Head of HR, Hull project Siemens Wind Power

The global engineering company has worked with the Pathway Plus project to develop a pioneering programme aimed at enabling young people with special needs to gain independence and confidence by entering the world of work. The unique, long-term programme aims to support a group of young people from work placement through to supported internship with the ultimate aim of securing full-time employment with Siemens and its service suppliers at the Alexandra Dock site.

Typically young people with special educational needs face the prospect of a lifetime of unemployment and reliance on carers and the welfare state. The new programme aims to break that cycle, by enabling progression from school to fulfilling employment.

Andy Green, Co-founder of Counting Hope

We’re looking forward to hearing from Co-founder of Counting Hope and founder of Lyke Limited.

Andy Green is a multi-award winning entrepreneur with a passion for social action. Having volunteered for various causes and raising hundreds of pounds throughout the years, he now runs his own charity with his family called Counting Hope, which empowers people through education. Before starting Counting Hope, Andy set up Lyke Ltd. - a web and software development company which specialises in websites and bespoke digital solutions. In the past few years, both organisations have seen growth and success despite Andy only being 20 years old and being born with cerebral palsy and later being diagnosed with type one diabetes. He truly believes that nothing is impossible and runs multiple talks and inspirational events around North East Lincolnshire to demonstrate why!

We will also hear first hand how being a Disability Confident employer can have a massive impact on the opportunities available to disabled jobseekers and how it can make the working day much easier for disabled people that are already in work.

And that’s not it, we still have speacial guest to announce so check back at eventbrite and social media.
