Arran: A success story

Arran

Arran joined the Supported Employment Initiative after graduating from Linkage College last July, and was supported to volunteer as a Trainee Store Colleague at The Original Factory Shop - this has paid off handsomely for Arran who has achieved his dream of gaining paid employment and is now a fully-fledged member of staff.

Arran has worked very hard to achieve this, right throughout a Supported Internship and then volunteering in his own right as a Trainee Store Colleague supported by Employability Services.

Arran is a full member of the team and can often be found serving customers on the till or even helping out the Manager with the banking. No two days are the same, some days Arran will be replenishing stock, other days making displays – but his happy, smiling disposition has made him a hit with the customers!

The Original Factory Shop Manager Ian Whitwham says: “Arran has made huge progress and is a valuable member of the team. He is always cheerful and the customers love him. We are very happy that Arran has chosen to join us as a permanent member of staff.”

Arran’s Employability Support Assistant Toni Davies comments: “Arran is legendry amongst the staff and customers at The Original Factory Shop – his sense of humour is infectious and his confidence has grown so much he bosses the Managers about! He has worked so hard and deserves every bit of success he has achieved – Well Done Arran!!”
